Have you been relaxing by the pool?  Do you have a sun burn?

My advise to you is to just smooth a layer of coconut oil over your sunburnt skin and you will get instant relief.  Coconut oil contains healthy fats that will soak into the damaged tissues to dampen inflammation, lock in moisture and encourage the growth of healthy new skin cells.  When the soothing oil is applied several times daily, it can shave three days from skin’s healing time.

Sun Burnt

Take a Green Tea Bath

Add six green tea bags in a tub of lukewarm water and soak in for 15 minutes.

Stay Hydrated

Drink water to help rehydrate the skin. Since your skin is battling the damage from the sun’s rays, it needs moisture. Drink at least 8 glasses of water.

Baking soda and oatmeal

Throw a few heaping tablespoons of baking soda into a bathtub full of cool water and soak in it for about 15 to 20 minutes.  This will help minimize sun damage. Add a cup of oats to the bath, it will soothe irritation and help the skin retain its natural moisture.

Don’t scrub your skin, instead dab yourself dry with a towel — don’t rub.

Drink Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea is soothing to your sunburned skin. Brew the tea and let it cool and then soak a washcloth in it and apply it to the affected area.  Please do not use it if you are allergic to pollen.

There are different opinions about this treatment.  It is said that two cups of vinegar to cool bath water can help take the sting out of burn. However, many believe that the high acidity in vinegar can make things worse.
